Applied Education Model
OSTİM Technical University was established in OSTİM, a prominent business and financial hub that has significantly contributed to Turkey’s industrialization. In addition to theoretical knowledge, the university places strong emphasis on applied education to ensure that students can effectively utilize what they learn. Beginning in their first year, students will take one practice-oriented course each semester, through which they will gain observational, practical, innovative, and managerial skills in various units of international trade and finance.
Entrepreneurship Report Card
The Entrepreneurship Scorecard at OSTİM Technical University is a structured process designed to equip students with an entrepreneurial mindset, competencies, and skills. It evaluates each student's performance based on predefined or subsequently recognized entrepreneurial activities. Upon reaching a certain threshold, students' progress is monitored and supported, ensuring the development of practical entrepreneurship capabilities throughout their academic journey.
Students who reach a certain score threshold on the Entrepreneurship Scorecard will be eligible for a range of rewards and support mechanisms. These include seed funding for their design, product, service, or project initiatives; business opportunities within OSTİM Technopark; support in finding and networking with potential partners; and internship opportunities abroad.
Elective Second Foreign Language
At our faculty, language courses are offered over seven semesters in some of the most widely spoken languages in the world, including German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Russian.
Lessons That Make a Difference
In addition to academic coursework, our department’s curriculum includes a variety of activities, programs, and initiatives designed to help students adapt smoothly to university life, achieve their goals, and foster personal development. Courses such as Introduction to University Life, Building the Future, and the Entrepreneurship Project are integral parts of the program. These courses promote active student engagement, cultivate intellectual curiosity, cultural sensitivity, and a sense of responsibility, while also supporting the development of entrepreneurial qualities such as innovation and implementation, commercialization, and institutionalization.
