About AACSB
AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) was established in 1916 as an international network that brings together business educators, industry leaders, and public institutions. In 1919, it set the first standards for undergraduate business programs, becoming a cornerstone of quality assurance in higher education. In 1980, additional standards were introduced for undergraduate and graduate programs in accounting, thereby establishing a multi-layered accreditation system encompassing various disciplines.
Today, with over 1,900 member institutions and more than 1,000 accredited schools across 60+ countries, AACSB continues to serve as a benchmark for quality in education, institutional development, and continuous innovation. In 2013, the standards were expanded to 15 core areas, and as of June 2023, they have been streamlined into 9 categories to form a more integrated and contemporary framework.
